Madonna is like a fine wine…

she just gets keeps getting uglierscarierbetter with age.

I came across this picture today, and I’m getting hot. I’ve never wanted something so bad before. My loins are on fire! Everytime I see a new picture of her, I feel the need to disappear into the bathroom for some alone time. Who can blame me? Look at that face! There is just something that turns me on about that, that face caught in a bear trap look. If that’s not enough for you, check out those arms. Imagine those arms wrapped around you, just hugging you…touching you!

ahh, please don’t touch me.

How can people do this to themselves? Does Madonna look in the mirror and like this new look? Does it not frighten her kid(s). I’m a grown man and I’ll probably have nightmares for a week.

Just to help you erase this from your mind. Here’s a little Gary Busey.

Apartment Living; Only for the Tardcore

Here is something I’ve learned in the past 2 weeks: Living in an apartment, after living in a house, sucks a big one. I think both, Alev and I , are feeling the same way. But I don’t think we’re feeling it as bad as Sugar. She went from have a 1900 sq ft house to lay around, to a 800-something sq ft place. We can tell she is already feeling couped up. It doesn’t help that there isn’t any where to really walk here. Before we had a big neighborhood, now we can walk the entire complex in about 10 minutes. Outside of the apartments, in every direction, are highways and frontage roads. Not really a great place to exercise her.

On Saturday, I decided to take Sugar to two of her favorites places, the doggie park and Petsmart. The doggie park is right next to our old house. When she recognized the area she started getting really excited, not sure if she thought we were going to the house or what. As soon as I let her out of the car, her mood changed for the better. She enjoyed all the sniffing of butts and wide open space.

She lets me know when it’s time to go, she will either lay down or walk towards to exit gate.

Our next stop was our local Pet Smart. I have no personal preference in pet stores, but Sugar loves Pet Smart. It’s the only place we have found that have chinchillas and hamsters at her eye level. When we get to the entrance she will start pulling toward to cages. It’s funny because she never pulls on her leash. Once she spots her rodent friends, it’s near impossible to move her away from them. If you start walking away, she will lay down and not get up. When we do get her away from them, she will try to get back. She is just fascinated with these things, no idea why.

After our trip, she crashed for the rest of the day, occasionally waking herself up when she snored too loud. Tonight, we’re going to head out to the Walnut Creek park for some hiking.

Things To Do in Austin

With our move to Raleigh right around the corner, it’s time to start working on the to-do list. The list is going to help keep track of things we love to do or haven’t done since living here. I would hate to leave Austin and say “Damn! I got forgot to…” or “Man, I wish we would have…”.

Most of the things I’m going to miss about Austin are food related. I looovvve me some food. From the places I’ve visited, it’s the most diverse in food selection. Being here, I’ve been able to experience a variety of food from different ethnicities. Some of it I will never try again (menudo) and some I could eat everyday of the week (everything other than menudo).

Talking with other people, it sounds like Austin is not as diverse as other places. Well, Duh! There is always going to be somewhere more diverse in food selection. For me, that’s the fun in traveling. One person I spoke with swore Houston has the most selection they’ve seen. Maybe this is true, but Houston is like the sweaty ball sack of Texas. Who wants to travel to a sweaty sack for food? Not I!

Raleigh, seems like it’s going to be rough with the selection. On a visit a few years ago, we ask a local where we can get some good Carolina BBQ. They responded with Red, Hot, and Blue! I’ve enjoyed some of the finest BBQ Texas has to offer, and this guy tries to send us to a corporate BBQ chain. It’s like asking who makes the best burgers in town, then they direct you over to McDonalds! Crikey. Fortunately, Raleigh is growing fairly quickly. With more outsiders moving in, hopefully some unique restaurants stop popping up. If not, I may have to open a Dim Sum/Indian/TexMex/BBQ/Thai all-in-one place.

Here is the list. Like I said, most of it is food.

-Alamo Drafthouse

-Chuys

-Rudy’s BBQ

-Salt Lick BBQ

-Amy’s Ice Cream

-Phil’s Ice House

-Juan in a Million

-Clay Pit

-East Side Cafe

-Kerby Lane

-Cooper’s BBQ

-Wahoo’s Fish Tacos

-Vietnamese Place – No particular one

-Visit the Stevie Ray Vaughn statue

-Might Fine Burgers

-Tubing down the Guadalupe

-Barton Springs Natural Spring

-Shanghai Chinese and Dim Sum

I’m sure I am missing something. But I will add it as I remember it. I will also mark them off as I knock ‘em out.

I’m hungry now.

I Can’t Get Out Fast Enough

The house has been SOLD! Well, not quite. Officially, we close on the house tomorrow at 11am. But we got a sign on the house saying it’s sold. That’s good enough for me. After signing away that house, a huge weight will be lifted off of our shoulders.

We moved in our temporary apartment at Limestone Ranch this past week. We found the sub lease on Craigslist and it was perfect for us. The lease ends on September 30, comes with a garage, and a storage unit. The storage alone will allow us to get rid of the storage unit at Bulldog Storage. So some money will be saved.

The bad part about the apartments, it’s nicknamed Crimestone Ranch. Lovely. It’s only for 2 months…2 looooong months. ugh.

In celebration of the closing, we will be going to Chuy’s for some mexican martinis. I can’t wait for the deliciousness to touch my lips…and the buzz that will follow.

This time tomorrow, we will no longer be home owners!!!

I bet you don’t hear someone gettin excited about that a lot.

One step closer to Raleigh, North Carolina.

New Layout is Done!

I finally got around to finsihing the new layout. What do you think? Do you likey? Do you likey enough to commit to a long term relationship? Yeah you do!

I lied, I’m not completely done with it, but mostly. Consider this a test run of sorts. If you see anything out of whack, broken, or don’t like something, please let me know. Enjoy!

Things that I know need to be fixed:

-Need a link back to home page

-Need to fix that ugly digg icon

-Archive widget is jacked

Peace out.

The Boxing Lesson’s Brighter teaser

Victor put together a teaser clip of the stop-motion music video he is working on. I went out on the first night to help & learn. The teaser clip looks AWESOME!

Check out the clip. It’s Brighter by The Boxing Lesson from Austin, Texas.

Terminator: Salvation

They are going to beat that Terminator brand into the ground. If it wasn’t for Christian Bale, I would call that movie a big piece of crap. Luckily for them, Christian Bale is a bad ass. He has the power to turn any potential turd movie into gold.

More G.I. Joe The Movie Pictures

Storm Shadow

Scarlett

Snake Eyes

Hawk

Duke

Baroness

Breaker

Destro

Rip

Wow! I’m almost speechless. When I first saw the Snake Eyes pictures, I was really excited that they were making the movie. Now, the more I see, the sadder I get. It feels like my childhood is being taken from me, devoured, and crapped out all over the place.

Next thing you know, they will be making a live action Thundercats movie.

Casting Thundercats: The Live Action Movie

Son of a…

Well at least The Smurfs are safe. There is no way anyone would touch that.

The Smurfs (2010)

Wow, really? The Smurfs? Really? Nothing is sacred. Soon my childhood memories will be replaced with a bunch of crappy movies.

The Dark Knight

I seriously cannot wait to see ‘The Dark Knight’. It’s been a long time since I was this excited to see a movie. I wasn’t even like this for the Transformers movie last summer. I feel like a little girl, about to experience her first kiss. I have butterflies in my stomach and my heart is racing.  te he

Batman Begins was, by far, the best comic book movie to date. I think a lot of that, besides having a bad ass director, had to do with the story being more believable. Of course, it’s still far fetched, but not so much that you’re rolling your eyes the entire time, like Fantastic Four or Ghost Rider (ugh). It took you through how Batman came to be, finding the batcave, weapons, etc. Not just my parents were killed, now I’m Batman and I built the batcave with my bare hands.

I can’t wait to see Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker. Already, there is a bunch of talk about how great it is, how it surpasses Jack Nicholsons. I can’t wait to see the performance. It sounds like his performance is based a lot of the darker Batman comics like The Dark Knight Returns. As a comic book fan, I’ve always disliked the old Batman TV show and the Joker from the 1989 Tim Burton Film. The darker stories seem to bring the villains down to earth and making them more believable, which made them a little more scarier. There go those butterflies again. te he

Last week, I started looking for tickets for some of the first showings but everything was already sold out. I was getting a little sad because it was looking like I might not see it this weekend. But something cool happened. My company, or a club within the company, is buying out a theater at 7PM Friday night. Woot! Tickets were even cheaper than anything where else. Today I will go pick up tickets and tonight, tonight I will be having beautiful dreams about seeing the movie. It better not break my heart like my first kiss did.

Showing Some Love to My Fellow Entrecard Droppers

I’m going to steal an idea from some fellow Entrecard droppers. Starting August 1st, I’m going to start showcasing the Top 5 EC droppers on SRR.com. I will create a section in the sidebar that will show off your EC thumbnails and link for an entire month. There will be no placing the section at the bottom of the page BS. I’m going to be putting it right above ‘Blogs I Read’ so everyone can see it. I want to reward the droppers that check out SRR everyday. As well, I hope this will encourage others to stop by and get involved with the site.

Questions and bribes can be sent to sirrobbierob at gmail dizot com.
